Affiliate Marketing

What is Affiliate Marketing? Before discussing how one can earn a handsome amount of money through affiliate marketing one must know what is AFFILIATE?

When a person or a group of person or a company or organization becomes a part or form a close relationship with another usually a larger group or organization to sell or promote its products or services then that person or group is called an affiliate.

Now days in modern business world generally large companies having large range of products appoints affiliates to sell their products. Though an affiliate sells products of another company yet it can't be called sales man as he/she design their own marketing program and strategy and based on their sales they get their remuneration.

Affiliate Marketing is simply an internet marketing technique. It is often used by webmasters or blogger's to generate revenue from their site or blog. There are hundreds and thousands of products available online over the internet to sell and promote. Its ones particular choice which product one wants to sell.

This creates a great opportunity for the aspiring affiliates to make money online. One has to simply search for the product that he/she wants to promote or sell. Just decide it and then search for the right affiliate program that has the right product for you to sell. There are many large affiliate networks such as Amazon.com, Shareasale.com, ClickBank.com, Affiliatebot.com etc. that can help you to find right products at right place.

There are again thousands of affiliate programs containing hundreds of products to promote and sell. Select and register yourself with any of these networks and select the products you want to sell. Now you can place the banners or ad of those products on your website or blog. Now according to per sale or per action you will be getting your Commission. There is again two way according to which you can make money. Those are:-

  1. Per Sale
  2. Per Action.

Per Sale
In this way affiliate gets money based on per sale. As soon as someone purchases any product through an affiliates site or blog he gets his commission for that sale. This affiliate Commission is generally in between 4% and 75% of the sale revenue.

This commission rate is highly depended on the product or service that you are selling. Suppose you are selling an e-book and a digital product. Commission that will be given on the sale of digital product will be much higher as compared to the commission that will be given on the sale of the e-book. This is so because selling a digital product requires more effort as compared to selling an e-book.

Per Action
In this way affiliate is paid by the merchant only when he is able to direct the visitor to the merchants site and he/she performs some action like registering them to merchants site, filling some form, filling postal address and zip code, taking free trial of a product or any other action. The merchants will clearly mention what action do they want visitors to perform and based on those actions affiliates are paid. Whenever any visitor directed by an affiliate performs the merchants desired action, affiliate is paid commission against that action.

The key to both of the above mentioned method is TRAFFIC. In order to increase traffic to your site or blog you have to work hard for long hours on internet marketing and generate as much traffic as possible to visit your site to take full benefit of affiliate marketing. How to increase traffic to your site is discussed in the next article. Increase Traffic
