How to Get Host For Your Site

As a first step you need to decide whether you want to build up your own site completely right from the scratch or you will like to use service of blogger or any other site. I would like to say that if you are a non technical person it would be nice if you go with WordPress.org or blogger.com.

With WordPress.org you will get better returns but you will have more work upfront and little investment for buying a domain name and hosting your site.

But if you are pure technical person then you have both the options open. You can built up your own site as well take advantage of other blogging sites. If you are interested in making your own site then:-

1) As a first step you need to buy a domain in which you would like to host your site like .com, .org, .edu, .net etc. Its up to you in which category you would like your site. Most preferred for commercial purpose is .com and for educational purpose is .edu.

2) Now you need a host for web hosting your site. By this, i mean to say that you need some space on Internet where your files and data will be stored.

There are multiple companies that have their own servers and provide space to their clients and in return you have to pay little amount to them for hosting your site. Once your site is hosted it means it is now on web that is World Wide Web(WWW).

There are many companies that do both of the above task. Some of them are:
  • godaddy.com
  • hostmonster.com
  • hostgator.com
  • networksolution.com

They charge around $10-12 per year for domain name and another $8-10 per month for web hosting your blog or web site. Best part of all this is that now you can now use your own domain name like yourname.com instead of yourname.blogspot.com. Its much easier to remember the former one than the latter one.
